Abandoned Furnishings Find New Life at Gala Auction Benefitting the Furniture Bank of Metro Atlanta

PicasSKOLThe Furniture Bank of Metro Atlanta will showcase local artists and designers during the annual Chairish the Future gala and auction on Friday, February 27th, from 7 to 11pm at the Foundry at Puritan Mill. All proceeds will benefit The Furniture Bank of Metro Atlanta, whose mission is to recycle gently used household furniture by giving it to individuals and families in the metro area who are moving out of homelessness, battling HIV/AIDS, and fleeing domestic violence.

Attendees of the gala will have the opportunity to bid on unique furniture pieces adopted by local artists from the Furniture Bank warehouse and transformed as well as pieces designed and created by Atlanta design firms for the event.

Participating Design Firms include Abby Haygood Interiors, Adrenaline, Gensler, Habachy Designs, Heery International, Idea Span, Benenate Design, and West Elm Atlanta.

“It’s great to see the community come together in support of this event,” said Megan Anderson, executive director of the Furniture Bank. “Chairish is such a fun event, but in the end it’s about our ability to serve the people in our community who are in need. The funds raised at the gala will go a long way toward ensuring that we can continue to do just that.”

Live entertainment will be provided by the MetroGnomes and gourmet food catered by Bridge Catering. The Furniture Bank is grateful to event sponsors Express Printer Supplies, Arbor Productions, Cox Enterprises, Rooms to Go Children’s Fund, Bell Oaks Executive Search, Grant Thornton LLP, All Seating, and Midtown Consulting Group.
