The Services We Offer

The Furniture Bank of Metro Atlanta works to improve the lives of people in our community by distributing essential home furnishings to individuals and families in need.

When families shop from donated furniture at our warehouse they are guaranteed a bed for every member of their household as well as a sofa. Most clients receive much more. On average families take 14 pieces of furniture including loveseats, dressers, dining tables and chairs, among other essential household furniture.

The majority of the Furniture Bank’s clients are moving out of homelessness, living with HIV/AIDS, or fleeing domestic violence. By providing beds for sleeping, tables for sharing meals, and couches for relaxing the Furniture Bank helps clients gain a sense of ownership and confidence. Clients report that because of the Furniture Bank they feel better about their living environment and the environment they are providing for their children and are able to perform better at both work and school.

The Furniture Bank is the only agency in the metro Atlanta area whose mission is to provide free furniture to people in need. The Furniture Bank is a vital part of the continuum of care necessary to move clients to self-sufficiency and independence.
